Event Co-Sponsorship
The Carolina Asia Center offers up to $300 in funding to invite visiting speakers to classes, film festivals, arts performances, and other public events that augment the intellectual life of the University and promote understanding of East, South, and Southeast Asia.
Department of Asian Studies
UNC-Chapel Hill is an academic leader in Asian Studies in North Carolina. Our Asian Studies department offers quality language and area studies instruction for a wide variety of Asian languages and cultures. Students can major in Arab Cultures, Asian Studies, Chinese, Japanese or South Asian Studies and minor in Arabic, Asian Studies, Chinese, Hindi-Urdu, Japanese, Korean, Middle Eastern Languages, Modern Hebrew or Persian.
UNC Study Abroad
The University’s Study Abroad Office hosts a vast array of study abroad options, including robust offerings in many Asian countries. Programs include UNC Biology in Shanghai, UNC Entrepreneurship in Shanghai, UNC JOMC Global Immersion: China, UNC Summer in India, UNC Summer in Singapore, and UNC Summer in Japan. Study Abroad also facilitates many exchange programs with Asian universities in East, South, and Southeast Asia.
