UNC-Chapel Hill Institutional Relationships and Activities: India

Over the past decade, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has built and strengthened relations with institutions and universities throughout India, with partnerships and linkages in global health, student exchange, and faculty exchange. Engagement has been fostered through the Gillings School of Global Public Health, the Lineberger Comprehensive Care Center, and the Carolina Population Center, plus the Study Abroad Office, the Department of Asian Studies, and the Carolina Asia Center in the College of Arts and Sciences.

These opportunities in India have been the result of a number of developments, some the result of earning competitive external funding and a long-term commitment to building bilateral relations with partners in India. Other developments have arisen from personal relationships and Indian heritage, with faculty members annually taking students on study abroad programs and collaborating with the extensive local Indian community in North Carolina.
