Driving off a Cliff: Where Are US-China Relations Headed?

Over the last 2-3 years, there has been a souring of the bilateral political relationship between the U.S. and China.  Many U.S. firms are re-thinking their presence in the Chinese economy; a significant number are considering moving their operations out of China.  According to AmCham China’s latest business survey, for the first time in a long while, many American firms are pessimistic about business opportunities across the PRC economy.  At the same time, in 2022, Sino-US trade reached an historic high in terms of both imports and exports.  What is really happening with regard to the thinking of US corporate leaders? Professor Denis Simon, who recently joined the Kenan-Flagler faculty, will provide expert commentary about the ups and downs of business and technology relations between the two countries.
