The Idea of India: Development, Secularism, and the Place of History

This is the second installation of Monsoon’s workshops on South Asian/South Asian diasporic history, culture, and awareness.

The speaker will be Professor Iqbal Sevea of the UNC History Department. He received his bachelor’s degree from the National University of Singapore and master’s in history from the School of Oriental and African Studies, London. He graduated with a D.Phil. in History from Oxford University and is a scholar with interests in political Islam and intellectual histories of South Asia, broadly.
