Screening of “Mothers’ Way, Daughters’ Choice” with Director Kyoko Gasha

Broadcast journalist Kyoko Gasha will be at UNC-Chapel Hill this Friday, March 2 to screen and discuss her award-winning documentary film, Mothers’ Way, Daughters’ Choice (85 minutes). The film explores how several Japanese women chose to start their lives over in NYC.  How do they reconcile their Japanese upbringing and their American lives? How do their life choices differ from those of their mothers?

UNC Asian Studies professor Jan Bardsley will introduce the event and moderate discussion.

This event is free and open to the public. Free parking in the parking garage in this building after 5pm.

The event is sponsored by Consulate-General of Japan, Atlanta; Carolina Asia Center; and Department of Asian Studies, UNC-Chapel Hill.
