Presented by the Department of Romance Studies in collaboration with the Center for European Studies, the Department of Asian Studies and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Free and open to the public. Movies in French with English subtitles. Doors at 6:00 p.m., films at 6:30 p.m.

Hiroshima mon amour

She is a French actress visiting Hiroshima to make a film; he is her married lover, a former Japanese soldier whose family was killed the day the U.S. dropped an atomic bomb on the city. While the two reflect on the horrors of wartime they begin to debate the very unreliability of memory.
