Diwali Festival – A Grand Celebration

Diwali is the most widely celebrated religious and cultural event in India and marks the victory of good over evil, light over dark, and the beginning of the New Year. Also known as the festival of lights, Diwali encourages artistic expression through vibrant performances, unique exhibits, and colorful decorations.

Cary Diwali 2015 is Mahotsav: A Grand Celebration, in recognition of the event’s 15th year. Enjoy a colorful and energetic cultural program, featuring musicians, singers, dancers, and theatrical troupes performing contemporary and traditional Indian pieces. Guests get to dine on delicious Indian food provided by local restaurants, shop at the eclectic vendor bazaar, and learn about Indian culture and history at the cultural exhibition. This year’s Diwali features a performance by renowned Bollywood singer Kavitha Krishnamoorthy, and concludes with a spectacular fireworks display.
