DEADLINE: Isaac and Rita Chao Fund for SILS Student Support

The Isaac and Rita Chao Fund for SILS Student Support will support one incoming SILS Master’s student with an interest in Chinese culture or language with a $7,500 scholarship. The scholarship is for students admitted for Fall 2016. Applicants should include a statement about their interest as an addendum to their application. Isaac Chao (MSLS ’69) worked as a librarian after graduation and then he and his wife enjoyed long careers as successful restaurateurs in Durham. Mr. Chao values his SILS degree and wants to provide opportunities to future students to further their education. Contact Ms. Susan Sylvester (ssylvest@email.unc.edu) for details.
