How Dangerous is North Korea? Five Myths about the Ultra-Strange Despotic State

The Krasno Global Affairs & Business Council at UNC-Chapel Hill is pleased to welcome Dr. Sung-Yoon Lee, Fellow at the Wilson Center, to speak on “How Dangerous is North Kora? Five Myths about the Ultra-Strange Despotic State.”

The talk will be moderated by Prof. Klaus Larres, Richard M. Krasno Distinguished Professor in UNC’s Department of History.

Dr. Sun-Yoon Lee is Former Kim Koo-Korea Foundation Professor of Korean Studies and Assistant Professor at the Fletcher School, Tufts University. His recent book, The Sister, provides an in-depth look at Kim Yo Jong, the sister of Kim Jong Un and the “most powerful woman in North Korea.”
