Crazy Rich Asians Screening & Panel

Carolina Asia Center, the UNC Institute for the Arts and Humanities, the Phillips Ambassadors, and Carolina Public Humanities invite you to Silverspot Cinema for an evening of food, conversation, and film. Please join us for a special reception and panel discussion of the hit movie, Crazy Rich Asians.  The film follows Rachel Chu, as she accompanies her longtime boyfriend, Nick Young, to his best friend’s wedding in Singapore. Once there she learns that the only thing crazier than love is family, in this funny and romantic story that is delighting audiences everywhere. A complimentary screening of the film is included in this special event.

9:00pm-9:15pm – Break

9:15pm-10:00pm – Panel discussion with Jennifer Ho (UNC Institute for the Arts & Humanities and Department of English & Comp. Lit.), Mary Lagdameo (Carolina Asia Center), and Susin Seow (Carolina Performing Arts). Max Owre (Carolina Public Humanities) will moderate the panel.
