Complementary Colors: Traveling in Asia as Women of Color
February 18, 2016 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm
Upcoming event: Complementary Colors! Join Phillips Ambassadors Saima Akbar, Samantha Holmes, Ntiense Inyang, and Sara Khan in an interactive discussion on issues regarding women of color traveling to South and East Asia. They will attempt to draw from their own experiences abroad and also frame topics such as religion, colorism, feminism, intersectionality, and invisibility within a historical context. Countries of focus are India, Singapore, and South Korea. This event can encourage those who are apprehensive about studying abroad in Asia as a perceived minority (or have a non-US passport). Refreshments will be provided. This event will be held on Thursday, February 18th at 5:00 pm in FedEx Global Education Center Room 3009.
