Carolina Korea Forum: Investigating College Life of South Korean Students Admitted through the Admission Officer System

April 20, 2017 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

AOS, introduced to South Korea in 2008, is the screening system in which each college hires admission officer(s) who have extensive knowledge about high school curriculum and experience in screening and lets them select students on the basis of their high school grades, personal background, potential, and aptitudes. This new college admission system contrasts with traditional admission system which considers mainly high school grades and CSAT(College Scholastic Ability Test) for screening. Dependent variables for the study are (1) school life satisfaction, (2) GPA, (3) intention to transfer, (4) intention to change major, (5) intention to take time off from school and (6) intention to drop out of school.
