APPLICATION DEADLINE: Weir Honors Fellowship in China

September 15, 2016

Become fluent in Mandarin and gain practical, independent work experience in China, home to one of the world’s oldest civilizations and the 21st century’s fastest growing economy.

William D. Weir Honors Fellows in Asian Studies spend the Spring semester in Beijing for intensive language study at the CET Chinese Language Center (12-18 credits) and then complete an eight-week summer internship (6 credits) in either Beijing or Shanghai exploring careers in fields such as banking, law, journalism, public health, and historic preservation.

The program is designed for students who are interested in developing advanced, working language skills in China. Up to three fellowships are awarded annually. Students contribute one semester’s tuition and the fellowship covers all other program expenses.
