APPLICATION DEADLINE: Phillips Ambassadors Program

September 15, 2016

UNC-Chapel Hill undergraduates in good academic standing with a minimum GPA of 3.0 who are accepted to a UNC-approved study abroad program in Asia, other than the SEAS and Weir Honors Fellowship in Asia programs, are eligible to become a Phillips Ambassador. Graduating seniors are not eligible to apply. To get started, select a program from the list of qualifying programs and click on the link that will take you to that program’s brochure page on the UNC Study Abroad website. There you will find an Apply button.

The Phillips Ambassadors Program is open to UNC students across all majors who are applying for a university-approved study abroad academic program in Asia.

Phillips Ambassadors are selected based on their high level of academic achievement and commitment to activities, service, and leadership. Strong communication skills and evidence of self-motivation are important. A clear understanding and articulation of how Asia and one’s study abroad experience fit into long-term goals are also taken into account.

Preference may be given to students who have not previously studied abroad in Asia and to students applying to programs that incorporate experiential learning and internship opportunities.

Selected Phillips Ambassadors applicants will be interviewed.
