Carolina Navigators

Carolina Navigators, a program of the Center for Global Initiatives, provides K-14 instructors and students with global education resources. These resources are created by Carolina students with international expertise and vetted by area studies experts. The Navigators program currently offers culture kits on more than a dozen Asian countries, including China, India, Japan, Indonesia, Nepal and Vietnam.

World View

World View is a UNC public service program that equips K-12 and community college educators with resources to prepare students to live in a globally interconnected world. Word View conducts professional development opportunities, including seminars, conferences, online courses, and study abroad. The Carolina Asia Center works with World View to develop Asia-related programs. In spring 2014, World View hosted a seminar on East Asia. CAC Director Morgan Pitelka also contributed a story to World View’s fall newsletter in 2013.

Ackland Art MuseumAckland Art Museum

The Ackland Art Museum is an academic unit of UNC-Chapel Hill and holds the largest Asian art collection in the Southeast U.S. Because art is a crucial component of global education, the museum implements exhibits and workshops targeting K-12 students. NC Civic Education Consortium

The NC Civic Education Consortium, a program of UNC-Chapel Hill’s Program in the Humanities & Human Values, works to extend the resources of the University to North Carolina’s K-12 educators. We offer quality professional development programs which include access to scholars on key topics, innovative lesson plans, and interactive pedagogical training.
