Student Organization Event Co-Sponsorship

The Carolina Asia Center offers up to $300 in funding to visiting speakers, film festivals, arts performances and other public events that augment the intellectual life of the University and increase the visibility of East, South and Southeast Asian studies.

You can submit a proposal to the Center at any time to apply for support funding. Carolina Asia Center funding is limited to $300 per event. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. To apply, please fill out the form below.

The Carolina Asia Center supports diverse Asia-related events. However, CAC co-sponsorship of any talk, seminar, documentary screening, film screening, performance or celebration does not constitute endorsement of or agreement with the views presented therein. As an academic institution, we value diverse perspectives that promote dialogue and understanding.

Event Cosponsoring Request

  • If you are a student organization, this form should be filled out by your treasurer only.
  • If you are a UNC student, please put your UNC student email.
  • Please enter a number from 0 to 300.
    The Carolina Asia Center is limited to providing up to $300 per event.
    Registered student organizations receiving direct student fees (including groups funded by Student Government), funds from University departments, or funds received through the University Development Office, to the University system to be managed by the Carolina Union Business Office and will be held in their organization's CUSO account. https://carolinaunion.unc.edu/departments/student-life-leadership/student-activities/finances/
  • This is to check and ensure you are up to date on policies and procedures for student organization funding.
  • As a UNC Department, we can not fund direct payments to Independent Contractors, reimbursement for members paying an Independent Contractor, Payroll, Stipends, or Awards (like gift cards).

  • The mission of the Center is to positively transform our understanding of and relationship with Asia, and to equip students and others with the knowledge of Asia to assume leadership roles.
