Event at Transplanting Traditions

This Saturday, please join local members of the Karen/Burmese community as their share their culture and cuisine at Transplanting Traditions Farm. This is a great opportunity to visit and build community with local Karen/Burmese students and see the transnational space they have created firsthand. Come to learn from, eat with, and support these vital members of the local community. All proceeds from the event go directly to supporting their return trip to Thailand next summer to visit the refugee camps where they grew up. They will be offering home-cooked Burmese/Karen meals at $5 a plate.

The event takes place from 10 AM – 1 PM at Transplanting Traditions Farm in Chapel Hill at 2912 Jones Ferry Road. A link to the group’s website is below:
