DEADLINE: Japanese MEXT Scholarships

New Japanese Government-Sponsored (MEXT) Scholarships Available for 2017
All scholarships offer full coverage of tuition and fees, airfare, and a monthly living stipend!

ALL APPLICATION MATERIALS ARE DUE June 24, 2016.

2017 MEXT Research Student Scholarship (Graduate-Level)
2 Years Fully Paid*

This scholarship can be used to attain your master’s degree, a PhD or to conduct research work in most subject areas or majors. Scholarship recipients can request to study at the university of their choice.

*If the applicant proceeds to a Master’s or Ph.D course after applying for the Research Student Scholarship, MEXT will continue to cover that student’s expenses until he or she graduates.

Japanese language proficiency, while encouraged, is not a requirement. If necessary, students will be enrolled in a six-month intensive Japanese language and culture course.

2017 MEXT Undergraduate Student Scholarship 
5 Years Fully Paid*

This scholarship is for students to complete a full Undergraduate program at a Japanese university. All majors and subjects are covered!

*In the case of six-year degree programs (medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine or a six-year pharmacy course), the full length of study will be covered by MEXT.

Japanese language proficiency, while encouraged, is not a requirement. If necessary, students will be enrolled in a one-year intensive Japanese language and culture course.

3 Years Fully Paid

MEXT will select an appropriate educational institution for the scholarship recipient, who may choose from the following study areas: Technology, Personal Care and Nutrition, Education and Welfare, Business, Fashion and Home Economics, or Culture and General Education.  This scholarship is for undergraduate-level study.

Japanese language proficiency, while encouraged, is not a requirement. If necessary, students will be enrolled in a one-year intensive Japanese language and culture course.
