2017 Asian Culture Festival
The Carolina Asia Center, Pi Alpha Phi, the Asian Students Association & Sangam Present
The 2017 Asian Culture Festival
On February 25, 2017, we will host a community-wide celebration of Asia in the FedEx Global Education Center at UNC-Chapel Hill. The Carolina Asia Center, Pi Alpha Phi and the Asian Students Association invite all Asia-related student organizations at UNC-Chapel Hill to submit a proposal for participation in this exciting event. The 12 best proposals will receive up to $200 to promote their organization and showcase a topic of interest.
During the day-long festival, the main atrium/lobby space will be dedicated to table and booth displays. The Nelson Mandela Auditorium and classrooms throughout the building will host various workshops, lectures, or other activities proposed by the student organizations. The day of booths and programming will conclude with a feature performance (to be decided) in the Nelson Mandela Auditorium.
The festival also coincides with our annual Asia Scholar Network conference, which will bring faculty from across North Carolina to campus. This offers the perfect opportunity for networking with leading Asia scholars from across the state.
We encourage student organizations to be as creative as possible when submitting their proposal for this event. Ideas may include a table or booth about a topic of interest, samples of Asian food, an artistic performance, a discussion/workshop on current events, an interactive activity, or all of the above. We look forward to seeing your best ideas!
In order to be considered for a slot at the festival and up to $200 in funding, please fill out the form at the link below by 11:59 p.m. on Monday, January 16, 2017.
